The St. Valentine's Day Massacre
February 14th, 1929 10:30
  • Al Capone Vs. "Bugs" Moran
  • Moran was contacted by a local thug about a large amount of quality whiskey for sale at a garage
  • Moran and his men agreed to meet to look over the whiskey
  • It was a set up by Al Capone (vacationing in Florida) and his gang.
  • 7 of Moran's men showed up ("Bugs" saw a police car close by and never showed up) and were ushered into the garage.
  • 4 gunmen showed up in a police car (two were wearing police uniforms)
  • They busted Moran's gang who thought it was a prohibition raid
  • Disarming Moran's men the "police" had the men line up against a wall and shot them all using .45 cal Tommy Guns, sawed off shotguns and a .45 cal pistol
  • The "police" walked out with the two others and drove away in the police car never to be seen again
  • Capone had an alibi and was never directly linked to the murders
